Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is now officially over and life has returned back to normal. It is Monday morning and I am enjoying a slow beginning with Tyler by my side. Lesley and I went to Tulsa to visit her family for a few days on the front side then came back home to visit with my family (brother, his wife and 3 kids). We had the best weather and time hanging out enjoying each others company. I played my first 18 holes of golf. I shot par twice and maxed out the rest. Tyler is laughing more and more. You should see him sitting up in his bumbo. He chews on his hands like nobody's business. Our house has not yet sold so I have been out looking for a job. I don't have one yet but am optimistic. I will be selling the truck soon too. There are some skills that we would like to learn before we go overseas and living here has presented us with a great opportunity to learn some. I have been going to a local butcher shop on Monday's at noon for an hour. I am not sure about groceries over there so I thought it would be a good idea to learn some butchering skills. If you can think of some other skills that we might need while we are out there, please drop us a comment and let us know. The Lord has blessed us with time so that we might prepare for our journey. Until our next entry, may God bless you and may you bring praise and glory to His great name in all that you say and do.

Kenny & Lesley & Tyler:
ReplyDeleteI am Amanda's mother. I met you at their church. I have put you on our prayer list at our church in Leedey, OK. You can be assured that you are in our prayers. I'm sure your house will sell in God's time as He has special plans for you. I so admire your commitment to serve Him. I cannot imagine what you have gone through to get where you are today. Lesley you are a doctor! That in itself says so very much. what determination and staying power that took. Kenny, I have sat in on your Sunday School class and know that you have a tue love for our Lord. I cannot know how you were able to pack up your belongings, sell the "excess" things (not really excess but practically everything you have). I know that was very hard. When you do get to Africa and find you need things, please do not hesitte to let me know and I will do what I can in our church to send you things. We also keep up with Allison Goodman who is also in Africa serving. Our church is very supportive of those who commit to serve our Lord and others. May God keep you and bless you. Connie Quattlebaum
