Wrecked

We went to Tulsa Thursday for Tyler's 4 month check up. He got 3 shots and took it like a man. What a champ! Friday morning we got up and headed home. The trip is about 5 hours depending on how often little T gets hungry. At about 20 mins out, the place where we make the call home to let them know we are almost there, BAM!!! A young lady (15) pulled out on a red light and we T-boned her. I hit the brakes and attempted to swerve around her but she kept coming. Our eyes met as we both saw it about to happen but to no avail. We hit at an angle which took away some of the energy. When it all stopped we dove into the back seat to make sure little Tyler was ok. He was crying, but fortunately he was not injured. Mom and dad came up to pick us up and I am here to say that the day after everyone involved is ok. The car is most likely going to be totaled. My heart sank as the entire event unfolded. All I could think about was my son. The speed limit was 45 and we were probably down to half of that at impact. I didn't think it would be too rough for Lesley and me but Tyler is only 4 months old. It puts life into perspective. I am so thankful that God had His hand of protection on our lives. The young lady was not injured either and we all walked away from the incident. At 15 with out a DL I am not sure their insurance will pay so keep us in your prayers. Thank God for those close to you and then let them know how much you love them.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is now officially over and life has returned back to normal. It is Monday morning and I am enjoying a slow beginning with Tyler by my side. Lesley and I went to Tulsa to visit her family for a few days on the front side then came back home to visit with my family (brother, his wife and 3 kids). We had the best weather and time hanging out enjoying each others company. I played my first 18 holes of golf. I shot par twice and maxed out the rest. Tyler is laughing more and more. You should see him sitting up in his bumbo. He chews on his hands like nobody's business. Our house has not yet sold so I have been out looking for a job. I don't have one yet but am optimistic. I will be selling the truck soon too. There are some skills that we would like to learn before we go overseas and living here has presented us with a great opportunity to learn some. I have been going to a local butcher shop on Monday's at noon for an hour. I am not sure about groceries over there so I thought it would be a good idea to learn some butchering skills.
